Position of a Nurse in a Multidisciplinary Team that is Taking Care of Retired People
MORAVEC, Martin
Introduction: Each nurse will be part of a multidisciplinary team. The differences will be only in the patients who will take care of them, and the goals and implementation plans of multidisciplinary teams will be proportional to that. However, the essence and intention remain the same. Satisfy the needs of the patient and perceive his needs as needs from a holistic being. To do this, more experts from individual fields in a multidisciplinary team are required, who fully cooperate to achieve this goal. Objective: A total of two objectives were set for the bachelor's thesis. The first goal was to evaluate how nurses perceive their position in a multidisciplinary team that cares for the elderly. The second goal was to find out how nurses perceive the benefits of a multidisciplinary team as such. Methodology: A quantitative method was used for the research survey. A questionnaire collection, where the target groups were nurses working in a multidisciplinary team caring for the elderly. The questionnaire contained 22 closed questions, including one table. Results: The results show that the nurses perceive the contribution of the multidisciplinary team positively as such. Nurses have been shown to feel as complete members of multidisciplinary teams and to work with other members to meet the needs of their patients. Nurses working in functioning multidisciplinary teams also have a better overview of the individual needs of their patients and, with information from the multidisciplinary team, are able to provide better nursing care. Nurses also consider the sharing of information within the multidisciplinary team to be positive. Conclusion: We conclude that a well-functioning multidisciplinary team of nurses is an integral part of proper and quality patient care. The results of this work could be beneficial in the field of education, practice.

KOUBKOVÁ, Michaela
My Bachelor thesis addresses the topic of cooperation between retirement homes and families of elderly people, since the demographic aging represents a world-wide issue associated with the increased aging of population. The thesis aims to determine which forms of cooperation with families of elderly people are used by selected retirement homes in the South-Bohemian Region, and to specify the forms of cooperation in terms of efficiency, perspectives and current options implemented by retirement homes. The sectional goals of this thesis are to determine whether the retirement homes consider the cooperation with the families of elderly people as important for the purposes of providing comprehensive care and whether the elderly people are satisfied with the manner in which the institution cooperates with their family. The quantitative manner of research was used for the purposes of implementing the survey, while being performed via questionnaire surveys in selected retirement homes in the South-Bohemian Region. Thereupon, the secondary analysis of data was compiled in the Microsoft Office Excel 2007. The outcomes of the thesis may be used by retirement homes for the purposes of improving the quality of their services. Moreover, the retirement homes may also clarify whether the elderly people are satisfied with the particular cooperation between the family and the institution. The questionnaire surveys uncovered that the retirement homes consider the cooperation with the families of elderly people to be important for the purposes of providing their clients with comprehensive care and that the elderly people are usually satisfied with the cooperation between their families and the retirement home. As for the form of cooperation, the retirement homes mainly use the option of involving the family in the care being taken of the elderly person.
The influence of faith on the ethical approach to the client in the home for the elderly
BOUZEK MATTASOVÁ, Jindřiška
Pensioner care went through large changes and development during last decade. Thanks to ageing of the population more pensioners live long enough to get into health status when they are not able to live in their homes and only few families can provide proper care to their elderly relatives. I decided to evaluate what is the influence of the personel directly caring about the people needing help, the influence of managers of the facilities, and the influence of the founders with relation to their faith. I studied amount of treatises written on the subject, I was in contact with several facilities, and I performed a qualitative research in some selected facilities. I also consulted the topics with specialists. Some facts are very promising as now is more professionals involved in direct care, and facilities often offer richer personal programme than before. At the time being there are wider possibilities of spiritual care. The research shows that the basic ethical values are endangered because of the controversy with funding of the care. Funding deficiency is the reason of the low numbers of personnel in facilities. This is by my observation the core problem. In this situation is exceptionally important the stance of the founder and a management of the facility, even if they are not in a direct contact with the elderly person.

Halmlová, Martina ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Kotrusová, Miriam (referee)
The paper deals with the phenomenon of sandwich generation. Specifically, it focuses on women, since they themselves often take on a commitment of care and therefore are more likely to become members of the sandwich generation, i.e. people who take care of still non- autonomous generation of offspring, and simultaneously of generation of aging parents. They are also trying to be autonomous entities and therefore have to combine family care with work responsibilities. The aim of this paper is to get to know the problems of these women, how they manage to cope with these commitments and what are their problems. This paper also deals with social policy in relation to the sandwich generation. The aim is to map the existing policy measures that affect these women and to find out what measures or services would be appropriate to establish in the future.
Prognostic estimate of needed capacity of facilities providing care for elderly in Nový Jičín District until the year 2030
Dubcová, Ivana ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor) ; Burcin, Boris (referee)
The main aim of the thesis is to estimate a needed capacity of nursing homes and houses with home help services in the district Nový Jičín. The year 2030 was chosen as a time horizon. Current facilities, age and sex structure of their users in this district were described by means of field inquiry. The proportion of users of facilities was estimated from real population of the district at specific age. Important part of the thesis is a forecast of population growth of the district, which was based on the previous population development there. This trend was compared with population development in Moravian-Silesian region and in the Czech Republic as a whole in the special chapter. The estimate of needed capacity of above-mentioned facilities connects the forecast of the future development of age structure of elderly with contemporary availability of the facilities providing care for elderly. The thesis also describes the development of facilities providing care for elderly in the Czech Republic, furthermore it analyses the factors that can influence demand for these facilities.

Štegmannová, Ingrid ; Havrdová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Holmerová, Iva (referee) ; Janečková, Hana (referee)
1 Name of paper / Name of work The implementation of social services quality standards in residential facilities for elderly people - Ethical aspects Abstract The changes in the approach to the clients and adjustments of the run of the facility to their needs are one of the biggest long-term challenges for the service providers. The basis for the correct setting of all the parameters of service (process, personnel and operating) are standards in the quality of social services which involve certain principles and ethical values altogether. One of the essential tools in the changes in approach to clients is the principle of individualization of care, which can be achieved by setting the services to each client individually so that the service provided reflects their real need as much as possible. This dissertation focuses on the individualization of care as a significant indicator in the changes of approach to clients. We tried to figure how the individualization of care reflects in the attitudes of organizations to implement quality standards and how it affects the worker's personality and chosen organizational aspects. An interim goal of this paper was also to identify the ethical aspects which can accompany the introduction of quality standards into practice. We have chosen a method of quantitative...
